FRC Kickoff Tomorrow
With the FRC Kickoff tomorrow, I wanted to get this blog up and running.
This will be a place where I can share my ideas and opinions as a For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology (FIRST) Mentor. The ideas and opinions expressed in this blog are my own. They do not represent FIRST or the teams that I mentor.
I've been sharing these ideas and opinions with mentors on my teams and with the host of the RoboZone podcast. This has led to some very, very long emails and Slack threads. I know this is probably annoying to those audiences, so instead of filling their inboxes, I'm going to be posting these items to this blog. They can subscribe and read them if they want or skip them as they see fit.
This blog also provides me the opportunity to reach you. Instead of peer-to-peer communication channels like email or limited distributions to my Slack workspaces, I want these ideas and opinions to be open for everyone to have access to them and comment on them.
This blog may end up one-sided. If there is a good discussion started in the comments, I'll likely move the conversation to Chief Delphi, which is better suited for a dialog or conversation on a topic.
I'm also going to use this blog to point you to the various Google Documents that I have created and maintain. I like the Google Documents because as situations change and as my opinions change, I can make edits and updates to the Google Documents. Adding posts to this blog makes me nervous. It is a commitment to an idea that will never disappear. Please understand that posts are locked in time and any ideas or opinions may have changed since I originally posted it to this blog.
With that, let the games begin. FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Kickoff for the 2022 Season, Rapid React, is tomorrow. All my season specific predictions will be proven false and likely the opposite of the actual game design.
